Nebraska football has played, but never beaten these programs

Though the Huskers have one of the greatest winning traditions in college football, they are winless against these notable programs.

Nebraska vs. Duke

Given how differently Nebraska and Duke are viewed as programs from a historical perspective, it isn't a surprise to see that they have met only once. However, the fact that it was Duke that came away with the win in 1955 is a bit surprising.

The game was actually the 1955 Orange Bowl to conclude the 1954 season. Unfortunately for the Huskers, the result was a 34-7 walloping by the Blue Devils.

Duke was actually the only ranked team in this matchup coming in at No. 14. Meanwhile, the Huskers were just a mediocre team going 6-4 in the regular season and spending only one week ranked.

It was the second-to-last season for head coach Bill Glassford and it was his only bowl appearance. In all he put together only three winning seasons in seven years on the job.
