Nebraska vs. BYU

Another program with a national title to its credit that Nebraska has played only once is BYU. That's a series in which Nebraska is also 0-1-0 all-time.

The only playing of this series was more recent. In 2015, the Cougars and Huskers opened up the season in Lincoln in what is one of the most memorable but painful season openers in Nebraska history.

That day, BYU's starting QB Taysom Hill was injured forcing backup Tanner Mangum into action. On the final play of the game, Mangum sailed a 42-yard Hail Mary to Mitch Mathews to come away with a 33-28 win.

That marked the first time since 1985 that Nebraska had lost its home opener ending the nation's longest home opener winning streak at 29 games. In the debut season of Mike Riley, Nebraska would go just 6-7 overall, a harbinger of things to come under Riley's guidance.
