Nebraska football commit shows off his skills with NFL quarterback
The Nebraska football team has reeled in some serious talent at the tight end position. Both Carter Nelson and Thomas Fidone are the players that should get any fan excited to see play against big-time college football opponents.
However, the Huskers’ latest tight-end commit has been under the radar. But he probably should stop going as unnoticed as he has. Bear Tenney is looking like the real deal, and his recent workouts with an NFL quarterback is the latest evidence of that.
Last weekend, Tenney caught passes for quarterback Zach Wilson of the Denver Broncos. The Nebraska football commit recapped his workout with the NFL gunslinger on social media. In a video Tenney posted, the tight end prospect is seen running a variety of routes while Wilson hits him in stride.

Your first reaction to this might be that Tenney just happened to work out with one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL. However, while he’s struggled since going pro, there’s no debate that he was one of the best QBs in college football back in the day.
Wilson is in his first season in Denver after spending his first three seasons with the New York Jets. The former BYU Cougar was selected with the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft. Considering the Broncos’ quarterback situation this year, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Wilson could end up the starter.
If nothing else, it shows that Tenney is getting as much work in as possible before his senior season and then beginning his Huskers career.
In 2023, Bear Tenney caught 27 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns as a junior at Lucas Lovejoy High School in Texas. Tenney was the sixth commitment to Nebraska’s class of 2025 and the first tight end. He was also considered a bit of a surprise as the Nebraska football team wasn’t listed among his finalists of Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Utah, and Washington.
However since committing, it appears that Bear Tenney has been as solid as they come and will soon be catching passes from Dylan Raiola and crew.
