As we get closer to the Spring Game, Nebraska Football recruiting is going to ramp up something fierce. Part of that ramping up is going to be Matt Rhule and company trying to lock down some of the state’s best players. That includes Millard South’s Chase Loftin.

Loftin is an interesting story because there may not be a player higher ranked in the state of Nebraska who seems so likely to head elsewhere. And when he goes, it’s almost certainly going to be at one of the best power conference teams in the country, assuming it’s not Nebraska.

Earlier this week, Loftin locked in three official visit dates. Nebraska Football is one of the three to get a visit. He’ll be in Lincoln on June 21. That’s the good news. The bad news is that he’ll be taking two other big time official visits to some schools that have had his attention for quite a while.

Florida State and Texas A&M are the other schools getting an official visit from Chase Loftin at this point. The Seminoles will be hosting the Millard South 4-star prospect on June 7. The Aggies are next up on June 14.

Those are two massive schools. It’s going to be hard to pull him away from them for Nebraska Football. On the other hand, should the Huskers win the recruiting battle, they can certainly afford to celebrate.

Nebraska Football locks in one of three official visits from Chase Loftin

The schools that have official visits locked in have long been among Loftin’s favorite. He took unofficial visits both to Texas A&M and Florida State earlier this month.

There was a time when he was expected to see Florida as well, but he instead only checked out the Seminoles. The Aggies have been a real contender since new offensive coordinator Collin Klein moved to College Station from Kansas State. Former Nebraska off-field assistant Christian Ellsworth is now at Texas A&M too as the senior offensive assistant in charge of tight ends.

Rivals and On3 both still have Nebraska Football listed as the team to beat for Chase Loftin, but it looks like this battle is going to go right down to the end of June. Expect him to announce a commitment not long after his official to the Huskers.
