Nebraska Cornhuskers who had the most memorable NFL careers
No. 1: Will Shields
On top of our list is Will Shields from Lawton, Oklahoma. From 1993-2006 he was one of the NFL's most dominant offensive linemen.
Shields was the 1992 Outland Trophy Award winner at Nebraska and a third-round pick in the 1993 draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. He would remain with that franchise for his entire career.
Perhaps the most prestigious award Shields won was the 2003 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award for his work in the community. He was also a seven-time All-Pro selection with three of those honors being first-team honors.
Amazingly, Shields was a 12-time Pro Bowl selection. Naturally, he was included on the NFL's All-Decade team for the 2000s.
Shields is in the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame and his Nebraska No. 75 is retired. He was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015.
