Adrian Martinez put quite the exclamation point on his post-Nebraska football career on Sunday night. One week after getting benched, the Alabama Stallions’ quarterback led his team to the UFL championship.

While his numbers weren’t as eye-popping as they’ve been at certain points this season, they were solid enough that he got his second MVP award in two weeks. Last week, he was named the UFL MVP after leading the league in rushing and finishing third in passing.

On Sunday night, he was named the championship game MVP as well. He even got handed the award by none other than former NFL great Tom Brady.

“I want to present the MVP award trophy to you for a great performance today. Obviously, your team played spectacularly,” Brady told Martinez after the game “But you did as well, three touchdowns and a great regular season, and you capped it off with another great performance today. Congratulations to you! I wish you a lot of luck in the future. Good luck!”

Adrian Martinez finished the game with three touchdowns (one passing and two rushing) after scoring 18 touchdowns in ten regular-season games. Those numbers, were accompanied by completing 13 of 23 passes for just 98 yards. He also ran for 52 yards on 11 carries.

While none of those numbers are all that impressive, they were more than enough to help the Stallions to a 25-0 win.

It capped a season in which the Stallions dominated most of their games.

The question now is what is Adrian Martinez’s next step. Will he get another shot at the NFL after camping with the Lions last fall?

The quarterback played four seasons for the Nebraska football team, from 2018-21, before transferring to Kansas State to finish his career. While in college, he threw for 9,391 yards and 49 touchdowns with 30 interceptions. Martinez also ran for 2,847 yards and 44 touchdowns.
