Former Nebraska football star could be getting big coaching boost
While the coaching carousel has mostly slowed down from when the Nebraska football team thought it might have to fight for its defensive coordinator again, there are some teams making changes here and there.
The NFL has still got a few comings and goings when it comes to its coaching ranks. That includes the San Francisco 49ers, who are still trying to regroup from their Super Bowl loss.
One of the ways the team is trying to regroup is by getting itself a new defensive coordinator. Steve Wilks, who seemed as though he did a very good job in his one season with the club, was fired after the season's final game.
Wilks's loss could be Daniel Bullocks' gain. The former Nebraska football star is on the verge of getting a big boost to his career, should he somehow get the defensive coordinator job.
It appears that he has at least a shot at the job. Considering he's already on the San Francisco staff, it's unlikely that he'd be getting an interview unless there was at least a chance he would actually get the job.

The former Nebraska football star's interview was made public by NFL insider Adam Schefter, who took to social media to let everyone know that Bullocks just completed his interview.
While the former Husker has been in coaching for about 11 years, getting the San Francisco defensive coordinator job would be a big jump. But it would be a jump after being with the team as an assistant defensive backs coach and then safeties coach since 2017.
Before that, he was an assistant defensive backs coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016. Prior to that one year stop, he was spent one season with Eastern Michigan as the cornerbacks coach.
Daniel Bullocks started his coaching career not long after his Nebraska football playing days were over. He began with Northern Iowa in 2012.
