Envision the electric atmosphere when the Nebraska football team strides onto the field for its first bowl game in over seven years, a moment that's been eagerly awaited since December 30, 2016. Picture that feeling. Now, imagine it’s just a few short months away.

There is more excitement surrounding the Huskers than there has been for quite a while. There was excitement when Scott Frost was hired. There was excitement when Matt Raiola laid out his plans for hte program before the 2023 season. But that was just a drop in the bucket compared to the feeling floating around Lincoln these days.

What amplifies the thrill is that it’s not just Nebraska football fans who believe the program is resurging. Athlon Sports recently conducted anonymous interviews with several Big Ten coaches, seeking their opinions on every team in the conference. The feedback they gave about the Cornhuskers was nothing short of a resounding endorsement.

Nebraska football is back, according to Big Ten coaches

“They’re going to break through this year, it’s just a question of how big,” these mystery coaches said. “They should definitely be bowling."

It's no surprise that the coaches attribute the team's awakening to the presence of Dylan Raiola. His contribution has been instrumental in the team's resurgence.

"It’s all about the quarterback [true freshman Dylan Raiola]. They’ve tried to slow play it as much as possible, but he’s clearly their best option, the most talented, the guy who makes the system work."

However, it’s not just Raiola that has the coaches convinced the Nebraska football team is making the postseason in 2024. In general, they believe that head coach did a “great job reworking the offensive talent.”

Tony White got some love too, as the Big Ten coaches believe his defensive alignment came very close to evoking the good old days when the Huskers were the kings of the college sports world.

Now it’s all about Nebraska football, showing everyone the excitement is warranted. That the Cornhuskers are back. There are fewer than 100 days until the season starts. Feeling the goosebumps yet?
