One of the weirder little tidbits you might notice going through this list is just how many former Nebraska basketball players spent time on a roster for the Charlotte Hornets.

So far, that’s the only team that Bryce McGowens has played with in his short career. He joined the Hornets after just one season with the Nebraska basketball team, choosing to go pro after a freshman season that saw him average 16.8 points per game.

McGowens was drafted in the second round by the Minnesota Timberwolves but was eventually traded to Charlotte. The guard has had a bit of an up and down career so far, though he’s managed to make himself a staple of the roster.

So far, McGowens has just 20 starts in 99 appearances, though that number could obviously go up as the Hornets’ season keeps rolling along. Despite mostly being a bench player, he’s had some games here and there where he’s shown flashes of taking the next step.

In April of 2023, McGowens had his best scoring game of his young carer as he scored 22 points. It seems that sooner or later, he could get quite a bit more playing time and get more starts.
