For the first time all season, the Nebraska football team is playing a morning game. To celebrate the first Keggs & Eggs game of the year, the university is rolling out an alternate uniform against the Huskies. NU showed off their new Red Dawn uniforms on Thursday night, and the reactions were positive by a vast majority.

The Cornhuskers have already unveiled an alternate uniform for the USC game. In that contest, NU will be wearing an all-black uniform. The school is also hoping for a "blackout" in the stadium, where fans will wear black apparel instead of the usual Husker red.

Nebraska football unveils 'Red Dawn' uniforms

On Saturday, when the Nebraska football team kicks off against Houston Christian, they'll be wearing bright red tops and bright red pants. This is the second time in about 20 years they've tried this look.

However, because of the tweaks that Adidas has done to its uniforms, the all-red uniforms look better than they did the first time this was tried. It's still quite striking, but in a good way.

The color scheme should certainly pop on Saturday morning when Nebraska fans get to see the team in the bright sun of the morning for the first time all year.

The Nebraska football team opened its season with a Thursday night tilt against the Cincinnati Bearcats at Arrowhead Stadium. They followed that up with their home opener against the Akron Zips last Saturday night. The tilt against Houston Christian is the first of at least two straight-day games. In Week 4, the Huskers take on Michigan at 2:30. The Michigan State game's start time hasn't been announced yet.
