Back in the winter of 2022, Nebraska and Colorado were doing battle for two of the best wide receiver recruits in the country. Initially, having won the battle for both Omarion Miller and Malachi Coleman, Miller eventually decommitted from the Huskers and instead chose Coach Prime and the Buffaloes. Coleman stuck by his commitment to NU and signed as part of Matt Rhule's first class. Earlier this week, both players were expected to enter the transfer portal. They will be on the lookout for new teams when things start heating up on January 2.
Coleman is looking to transfer for the second time in two years. After two years in Lincoln, he moved to Minnesota last season. Now he's looking for his third school. Miller saw limited action in his first two seasons in Boulder, but had a much better junior season, catching 45 passes for 808 yards and 8 touchdowns.
All three of those numbers led CU in 2025. Miller's departure represents a massive hit to Deion Sanders' unit following a disastrous 3-9 campaign in the first season, where Coach Prime's team wasn't led by his son at quarterback. Could Nebraska find a way to land Miller again, and this time get him to sign on the dotted line?
Former Nebraska football commit Omarion Miller plans to enter portal
It's hard to know just where Miller's leaning, especially considering he's not officially in the portal until January 2. Back when he was leaving high school, he committed to LSU before he flipped to Nebraska, before he flipped to Colorado.
The wide receiver is originally from Louisiana, so it would make some sense if he wanted to head to SEC country. Lane Kiffin, trying to rebuild the Bayou Bengals, will almost certainly at least kick the tires on Miller.
Nebraska, too, will likely want to spend some NIL money on wide receivers this winter, as starting wideout Dane Key is graduating. Having already had a relationship with Miller, there may be reason to think the Huskers can get their foot in the door.
