Nebraska football is rich in history and certainly has its fair share of titles and success, but unfortunately for fans nowadays, a lot of that success came back in the 1970s to 1990s. Since then, the Cornhuskers have struggled, but they still have had top talent come through the program and go on to have strong NFL careers.
The Associated Press just released its All-Time All-American Team to celebrate 100 years of All-Americans, and two Cornhuskers landed on the First-Team. Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and wide receiver Johnny Rodgers both were named to the First-Team, and center Dave Rimington was named to the Second-Team.
With over 54 All-Americans over the last 100 years, for three guys to be named to the list out of 50 guys named to the First-Team and the Second-Team is pretty great for the Cornhuskers.
#Huskers Johnny Rodgers and Ndamukong Suh are on AP All-Time All-America team, which coincides with the 100th anniversary of the AP naming AAs. A total of 27 players from Nebraska cities/towns have made our AA team since 1925, tied for 23rd among states.https://t.co/vsekb7zQRI

Suh played at Nebraska from 2005 to 2009 and played as a true freshman for his first two games, but sadly missed the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery. After receiving that medical redshirt, Suh then played all 14 games his second season as a backup defensive lineman and even earned Freshman All-Big 12 honors.
His sophomore year allowed him to see a starting role, and by his junior year, he had a team-high 76 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 19 tackles for loss, two interceptions that were returned for a touchdown, and a touchdown as a fullback. Suh was the first defensive lineman since 1973 to lead Nebraska in tackles, and he earned First-Team Big 12 honors in 2008. Suh outdid himself in his senior season with 85 tackles, 12 sacks, 28 QB hurries, 20.5 tackles for loss, 10 pass breakups, three blocked kicks, and an interception.
He was a part of Nebraska's Big 12 loss to Texas, but did receive the MVP award with his 12 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Suh was again given First-Team Big 12 honors and was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year as well as the AP College Football Player of the Year and many other top college football awards. Suh was selected with the No. 2 overall pick by the Detroit Lions in the 2010 Draft. He recently officially retired from the NFL.
Rodgers played many positions while at Nebraska including punt returner, wide receiver, and running back. Rodgers broke so many offensive records while at Nebraska and won the Walter Camp Award as well as the Heisman Trophy with the Cornhuskers. The Omaha native spent just three seasons at Nebraska and holds the all-purpose NCAA yards record with 5,586 yards.
