A former Nebraska football player is officially starting his football coaching career. In the process it looks as though Kade Warner has decided he’s not going to try and play in the UFL or NFL and will instead move onto a portion of his career that could set him up for the next several decades.
Warner will be the Division II Quincy University Hawks' offensive coordinator, according to FootballScoop. The Hawks compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. As it turns out, it appears that Quincy is making some serious moves on its staff as it has also hired Dan McKeown as its new defensive coordinator and Millikin (D-III - IL) offensive line coach Jeff Fantuzzi to the same position. McKeown comes to Quincy after one season as the defensive coordinator at nearby Western Illinois, five seasons in the role at Saginaw Valley State, and two at Lawrence Tech. Fantuzzi joined the Millikin staff in January after spending 2024 as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator at Adams State.
Ex-Nebraska football WR Kade Warner takes first coaching job
So excited for @KadeWarner to get his start in coaching as the OC of @QUHawksFootball… also a bit envious that he gets to build his own offense (always been a dream of mine)!!! He’s going to crush it! #ProudPapa

Warner, a former wide receiver with both the Nebraska football and Kansas State programs moved onto the NFL after his college playing days and then to the UFL. He played with Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Houston Roughnecks and San Antonio Brahmas. Now he’s hanging up the cleats and picking up a whistle.
The hiring of Kade Warner as Quincy offensive coordinator was first reported by his father, Hall of Fame NFL quarterback Kurt Warner.
Kade Warner played for the Nebraska football team from 2018 to 2021(serving as a team captain in 2020) and in three seasons, caught 30 passes for 236 yards. After those three years, he transferred to Kansas State alongside Adrian Martinez. He had his best season by far in his final year with the Wildcats, catching 46 passes for 456 yards and 5 TDs.
