If there has been one complaint about Matt Rhule's recruiting since coming to Nebraska, it's that he hasn't offered near enough of the state's top prep stars. For now, Justin Parish is among those who certainly seem like it would behoove the Huskers to enter the race, but for now, Rhule's staff still hasn't done the deed.
Even without NU giving the Omaha Westside interior offensive lineman an offer, Parish's recruiting profile is exploding these days. Armed with Power 4 offers from Missouri, Kansas State, Kansas, Iowa and Iowa State, he's now getting more notice from SEC schools.

Interest in Parish really picked up over the last month. The Cyclones came calling on March 27, followed by the Hawkeyes on April 7 and the Tigers on April 21. One day later, the Tennessee Volunteers gave him his first official offer from an SEC school. So why is Nebraska so late to the party?
Part of the reason might be that while Parish is considered the top prospect in the state, he's not ranked all that highly among offensive linemen (No. 41 according to Rivals) or among all players in the class (No. 578 nationally).
Previous misses have Nebraska football fans on edge
On the other hand, it's clear that while Parish isn't among the most highly rated in the country, there's plenty of time for the 2028 prospect. Guys like Rhett Thomala didn't have high rankings until plenty of schools came calling. And in Thomalla's case, especially, once Nebraska decided to pay him any attention at all, it was far too late.
Amarion Jackson was another player that never got a Husker offer. Not even after he committed to Iowa State and then transferred to Penn State once Matt Campbell took the Nittany Lions' job. Now Campbell is talking about the true freshman aiming for tons of playing time in 2026.
On Friday, Parish got an offer to attend a camp with the Alabama Crimson Tide as more SEC schools come calling. Will Nebraska eventually get in the race? That they haven't yet is still a bit of a mystery.
