As Nebraska football offensive lineman Turner Corcoran works back from injury, head coach Matt Rhule thinks he's found the perfect way to use him. While Corcoran is playing some at his regular position, Rhule and the coaching staff have also seen a role that gives them an extra blocker around the goal line. That's something that worked very well against Akron and something they'll likely keep doing.

"He played at left tackle and then we wanted to try to use some jumbo 12, you know, some a big tight end, and there along with Luke [Lindenmeyer] so that we could try to take advantage of the edge, try to run some of our duo plays, some other plays we didn't get to."

The Nebraska football head coach then heaped praise on Corcoran and his willingness to give the different looks a try to help the team.

"I think that's you know the benefits of Turner. He’s so smart. You know he can be ready to play left tackle and play tight end and have that not affect him so you know he's he’s a prime candidate for that."

"We have a couple other guys who I know could do it, but as Turner's working back into getting healthy, it just seemed like a perfect fit for him."

It's an interesting approach that allows the Nebraska football team to find new ways to have better success near the goal line. Not everything worked out all that well, especially early in the game when they got inside the Akron 10 twice and came away with zero points. However, everything is a work in progress.
