While the Nebraska football team has definitely improved under head coach Matt Rhule in his three seasons at the helm, this version of the Huskers has a few rather obvious weaknesses. Rhule and his coaches have set out to fill one big hole with a recent offer to Jalen Anderson.
Anderson is one of the best pass rushers in the JUCO ranks this year and has more than a few Power 4 schools coming after him. On Tuesday, the Huskers were one of the latest teams to come calling, and it's not hard to figure out why NU would be interested.
247Sports ranks Anderson as the No. 6 overall JUCO prospect, the No. 1 JUCO EDGE, and the No. 2 JUCO recruit from Louisiana. Anderson's recruitment has surged in the last few weeks, garnering over 20 offers since the start of October, including Nebraska's this week.

Nebraska football looks to shore up leaky defensive line with JUCO monster Jalen Anderson
Earlier this year, Anderson explained to Sports Illustrated that he feels grateful to have the opportunity to play at the Division 1 level, and that it's not something he imagined being possible when he committed to Pearl River Community College out of high school.
Anderson's domination at the JUCO level has the Cornhuskers very interested in trying to pull him away from schools like Florida State and Colorado. Last year, the defensive end racked up 41 tackles and 7 sacks. So far this year, he's got 39 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries. He's also logged an interception in both years.
With Nebraska just entering the contest for Jalen Anderson, they have some ground to make up. However, there's little doubt that Matt Rhule and company won't go after him hard as they look to repair a defensive line that has been a detriment rather than a strength in 2025.
