Henry Lutovsky knows that there are Nebraska football fans who aren't happy with the way the offensive line has played. On the other hand, the veteran Husker believes some fans have crossed the line when voicing their displeasure.
Lutovsky said earlier this week he's been getting more people than usual getting into his DMs. The lineman said the fans aren't happy with his unit's play, and they've been letting him know in the most unfortunate ways possible.
Nebraska veteran Henry Lutovsky says he’s blocking out fan noise and focusing on Maryland
However, the Nebraska football offensive lineman added that he knows better than to listen to fans who come after him in his DMs. He knows to tune out the noise and listen to his coaches and teammates. The rest?
"We say it all the time, don’t take advice from a person you wouldn’t trade places with."
As for getting ready specifically for Maryland, Lutovsky believes head coach Matt Rhule's plans leaving for the East Coast a day earlier than they normally would for a road game.
"Getting there a day early … it’ll be a good time for us to kind of get our legs back after the flight, take a deep breath, and just relax going into game time," Lutovsky said.
He added that all those people who have been yelling at him through DMs about the offensive line play don't realize the problems aren't as widespread as they think. "It was just one guy off a little bit here, one guy off a little bit there… the tiny details of our technique and fundamentals, that’s what got us," he said.
That's not to say that Lutovsky thinks there were problems. “All those blitzes you pick up on Saturday; you really pick them up Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,” Lutovsky said, emphasizing preparation as the key to cleaner execution by the time the bullets are live.
The Nebraska football star needs to cancel out all the noise and just win the day. He seems ready to do just that. Bad Husker fans or not.
