Nebraska football gets go-ahead for Dylan Raiola and Dana Holgorsen teamup vs USC
The Nebraska football team has a new offensive coordinator. And judging by the people who know Dana Holgorsen most, he and the Huskers may be a match made in heaven. But even if that is the case, there was some worry that fans wouldn’t see how he and star quarterback Dylan Raiola work together immediately. It appears they’ll get the chance after all.
On Thursday, Matt Rhule addressed the media for the last time before his Huskers take on USC in The Coliseum on Saturday. And when he did address the media, he had some good news.
While Raiola entered the week as “hoping to play” vs USC there was some real doubt whether he’d be recovered from a back contusion he suffered against UCLA. It turns out that he’s had a good week of practice and is “ready to go” for the Nebraska football team.
Nebraska football will have Dylan Raiola and Dana Holgorsen teaming up vs USC
“Dylan will be ready to go and had a great week of practice,” Rhule said on Thursday. “We got reps to all the guys. Heinrich (Haarberg) ready to go. Heinrich has had a really good two weeks… we’ll take four quarterbacks out there, but they’re all comfortable with what we do.”
Just how Holgorsen and Raiola will team up this Saturday is a mystery. It seems unlikely the playbook is going to look demonstrably different, considering just how short a period the new OC has been in town.
But the good news is that Nebraska football is going to see Raiola and Holgorsen team up. And that gives the team the best chance to win its sixth game of the year tomorrow.
