Over the years, ESPN's FPI has told quite a few tales about the Nebraska football team. However, this year, the Huskers' start to the season has already told two different stories. And the latest one should have fans pretty excited.

The Cornhuskers began the year ranked in the lower 30s in the FPI, with an expected win total of 7.4 wins. Now with a new update following the 2-0 start, Nebraska's projected win total jumped to 9.2 with a 99.8 percent chance of getting to the six-win mark and qualifying for a bowl game.

Nebraska football FPI projections surge after Week 2 domination

If the jump in expected record and a bowl bid doesn't get Nebraska football fans fired up, the team's jump in chances for a College Football Playoff berth might. The Huskers started the season with just a 7.2% chance of getting into the field. Now, after a solid win over Big 12 team Cincinnati and a blowout over Akron, NU has a 27.6% chance of getting a bid.

Unsurprisingly, the change in expected wins for the Huskers means that there have been some serious changes to the game-by-game predictions after the 2-0 start to the season.

Most notably, a game the Huskers were expected to lose against Michigan, with just a 41% chance before the season, has jumped up to a 69.5% chance of NU winning after Week 2.

Another borderline game against Minnesota saw Nebraska get a 53% chance of winning before the season. Now the Huskers have a 69.5% of winning. The same goes with UCLA, where NU had a 52% chance of winning, that's gone up to 82.5% against a Bruins team that has been awful to start the year.

The Cornhuskers are also heavily favored to beat Iowa up from a 57% chance to a 76% chance after Week 2.

One interesting shift is the Nebraska football team's chances of beating USC. They've actually gone down as the Trojans have taken care of business this year. The Huskers went from a 39.5% chance of pulling off an upset to just a 36.1 percent probability of winning.
