Emmett Johnson didn't have a great NFL Combine by the numbers, but it's clear that the Nebraska star still has his admirers. In fact, according to one new NFL Mock Draft, he'll be the only Husker who gets selected in the first three rounds this spring.
According to Nicholas Rome of Saturday Blitz, Johnson won't even have to wait all that long to hear his name called. Where he's going also seems like a perfect landing spot, though it means he won't be able to play for his hometown team, at least not right out of Nebraska.
Rome believes the Seattle Seahawks are likely to decide Emmett Johnson is the guy they need right at the end of the second round. The reigning world champions have the very last pick in the second round. That means the Nebraska star will be picked No. 64 should the analyst be correct.
Nebraska football Emmett Johnson mocked to the Seahawks at No. 64
"Free agency is likely going to lead to Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker cashing in elsewhere, which will hurt this offense. The Seahawks love to utilize two running backs, and the team could look to find a replacement in the draft. Emmett Johnson didn't have an incredible week at the Combine, but he's still a highly productive rusher with talent as a creator running the ball rather than an overall speed or power threat."
Rome officially has Johnson as the third running back selected after Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price (both of Notre Dame). That's in line with Mel Kiper's latest draft board release.
Kiper didn't extend his Mock out to the second round. Still, the ESPN analyst has the Nebraska star listed as the No. 4 running back behind Love, Price, and Arkansas' Mike Washington Jr. Someone like the Seahawks could decide they like Emmett Johnson a bit more and snatch him first.
