The Nebraska football team has undergone some real changes this offseason. Heading into the third season of the Matt Rhule era, the Huskers head coach had to shift around his coaching staff.

Dana Holgorsen is the new offensive coordinator. John Butler is the new defensive coordinator. Mike Ekeler is the special teams coordinator, Phil Snow is now the new Associate Head Coach, Terry Bradden has taken over the defensive line, Daikiel Shorts Jr. is the new wide receivers coach, and Addison Williams has taken over the defensive backs. That’s a lot of shifting about for a team who just went to a bowl game for the first time in almost a decade.

Nebraska football’s new-look staff makes impact with high-energy approach

It might seem natural to think that the new coaching staff is still trying to find its way. Still trying to learn the ropes. However, one Rivals analyst believes that the Nebraska Cornhuskers staff has already blended together nicely. Tim Verghese recently talked about the impact they seem to be having early in spring practice.

What stood out ot him the most is that the new Nebraska football coaching staff has no problem making themselves known and heard on the field.

“It was hard to miss Coach Braden,” Verghese said on Hail Varsity Radio. “Like his voice. I mean, you can hear it across all the video. You can just hear him in the background yelling like he's going to get on these guys, you know. And that was it was entertaining to kind of watch him coach up the guys.”

“I thought Ekeler, again, there was like one special teams group kind of working in or one special team station kind of working in. And you could still hear Ekeler over like most anybody out there, too. So he's bringing the energy. And then something that caught my attention, they had the DBs and wide receivers working one on ones.”

It’s clear that the new Nebraska football staff is making its mark. They’re standing out to observers. Now that just needs to lead to wins.
