Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor was already dealing with the loss of his best pass rusher this offseason. Now he and defensive coordinator Al Golden are also without one of their better young defensive backs with the departure of former Nebraska football star Cam Taylor-Britt.

Reports surfaced late on Monday afternoon that the former Husker is now also a former Bengal. Taylor-Britt is expected to sign a deal with the Indianapolis Colts. The new contract allows him to follow his former defensive coordinator, Lou Anarumo. Anarumo was Cincy's DC when Taylor-Britt was drafted and eventually bumped into a starting spot in his rookie campaign.

The specifics of the new contract for the former Nebraska star aren't yet known, but all reports point to him joining the Colts for the 2026 season. In doing so, Indianapolis lands a talented young cornerback who has had an up-and-down start to his career, marked by injuries and changes in defensive approach.

Taylor-Britt's best season in Cincinnati was 2024, when he was snubbed from a Pro-Bowl appearance despite racking up 77 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 11 passes defended.

Taylor-Britt played all four years for Nebraska, starting in 2019, and was a full-time starter for his last three seasons in Lincoln. In his senior year, the defensive back was named a team captain and rewarded his coaches and teammates by having a career year.

In his final season with Nebraska, he racked up 51 tackles, an interception, and 11 passes defended. He was also someone that NU opponents routinely tried to stay away from, with varying degrees of success.
