Nebraska stopped one of the hottest QBs in the country and no one's talking about it

While the Nebraska football team sits at 3-1 on the season, they aren't sniffing the Top 25 in large part due to what critics call an easy non-conference schedule. However, with each passing week, the Huskers' first win of the season over Cincinnati, and quarterback Brendan Sorsby looks better and better.

One thing to consider: The Bearcats seemingly took their last-second loss to NU personally as they've reeled off three straight wins. On Saturday, those wins included a come-from-behind victory over the Kansas Jayhawks. That win allowed UC to start the season 1-0 in a wide-open Big 12.

Cincinnati’s rise proves Nebraska deserves more national attention

A second thing to consider: Nebraska held Sorsby to less than 100 yards passing and sealed the game thanks to an interception near the endzone by Malcolm Hartzog. As it turns out, that was the last time Sorsby threw a pick. He's now thrown 10 touchdowns and zero picks since the Huskers' game.

Sorsby has also not thrown for less than 250 yards in any game since appearing in Arrowhead, and threw for nearly 400 yards against the Jayhawks.

There were some concerns about the way Nebraska's defense played against Cincinnati, and those concerns were underlined against Michigan, but the fact of the matter is that the Bearcats look like an offense that could be very dangerous for the rest of the season. It's not hard to imagine that when the season is over, the Blackshirts will have done a better job than anyone in containing Brendan Sorsby.

Just some things to consider as Nebraska football fans sit and wait until next Saturday. That's when a Michigan State offense that has put fear in the hearts of every defense it has faced comes to Lincoln.
