Now, just about a month away from the Nebraska football team's first game, season projections are coming out from any media entity anyone can think of. Last week, one Barstool Sports analyst, Brandon Walker, raised some eyebrows among Huskers fans when he made his prediction about how well Matt Rhule and Co. will do in his third season at the helm.
Walker started the segment on a recent podcast posing the question to himself, "who in 2025 can be the 2024 Indiana Hoosiers?" In other words, Walker was wondering who would be the surprise team that shot out of a cannon last year and upset several big teams along the way to making the playoffs in the first season that allowed 12 teams.

Walker went on to say that while Indiana was a good team, their march to the playoffs were aided by a weaker schedule. And that's when he arrived at the Nebraska football team as being a possible Indiana of 2025.
"Who will be the team that's pretty good, really good actually, but their schedule makes them look incredible and better than they actually are?" Walker questioned. "I think it might be Nebraska."
"Nebraska's bringing back a 5-star quarterback who got thrown into the fire last year, you've got a third-year coach in Matt Rhule who by his third year is usually pretty good," Walker added. "Defense-wise, the defense may need to be re-tooled, but schedule-wise, they might be favored in 10 games."
After going through the Nebraska football schedule game by game, he decided their slate underlined his point. "10-2 is on the table," Walker said. "They're going to be favored 10 times, maybe 11. This schedule is very doable for a team that should take a step forward. If you're looking for a 2024 Indiana, it's Nebraska in the Big Ten."
