While the Nebraska football team's first three weeks of the season hardly offered a murderer's row of opponents, it's clear that their domination of Ohio, Bowling Green, and North Dakota is at least catching the notice of some members of the media.
With Sunday's release of the AP Top 25, the Huskers are not anywhere near the rankings, but for the first time since the regular season started, they got some votes. The flip side is that they got the fewest votes of any team that showed up on the poll.
Nebraska got all of two votes in this week's AP Top 25 poll, behind Washington (107), Kentucky (98), West Virginia (93), Oklahoma (91), Oklahoma State (50), Boise State (48), Virginia Tech (46), Western Michigan (27), Duke (20), Tulsa (18), Arizona (12), Pittsburgh (10), UCLA (10), James Madison (7), North Dakota State (6), and Kansas State (3).

Because so many teams received at least a few votes, the Huskers are technically ranked 42nd in the country. Still, while NU is 3-0, its non-conference schedule has never been considered among the best in the country. It says something that the program is getting any attention at all, with three opponents considered cupcakes.
Nebraska getting a couple of votes in the AP Top 25 could also signal that, if the Huskers continue taking care of business, they will be at or near No. 25 should they start the season 5-0. Then, of course, if they can pull off a big upset over Indiana for a 6-0 start, they might even be staring at a Top 15 ranking.
All of that is getting way ahead of things. For now, Nebraska can take pride in its showing, catching the eye of a few members of the media, even if they're still not ranked all that high, even outside the AP Top 25.
