Emmett Johnson and DeShon Singleton officially got invites to the NFL Combine, allowing them to show their abilities to every NFL team all at once. That's the good news. The bad news is that Johnson and Singleton are the only Huskers with official invites.

The NFL officially released the complete list of invites on Wednesday morning. A total of 319 prospects have been invited to attend this year's event, which will take place in Indianapolis from February 23 through March 2.

Johnson's invitation is a no-brainer considering the kind of season he had and the plaudits he got as one of the best players in the Big Ten. Some analysts believe the Nebraska running back could be a first-day draft pick and will almost certainly be drafted before Saturday.

Only Emmett Johnson and DeShon Singleton made the NFL Combine

Singleton's invitation is more of a surprise. While he had a very good season in 2026 and a stellar career for the Huskers, he didn't get nearly as many mentions as being among the best players in the sport. It's certainly a happy surprise, as it doesn't guarantee he'll get drafted. Still, he won't be an undrafted free agent.

Some might see it as a bad sign that the Huskers only got two invites to the 2026 NFL Draft Combine, while there were four Nebraska players a year ago. However, part of that is this past version of the Cornhuskers didn't have a ton of guys moving onto the next level as the team was quite young.

It will certainly be interesting to see what Emmett Johnson and DeShon Singleton can do for their NFL Draft chances once the Combine kicks off later this year. It's certainly something Nebraska fans and coaches will keep an eye on in a few weeks.
