The Nebraska Cornhuskers softball team is expected to improve quite a bit on where it finished a year ago. With Jordy Bahl returning and being plenty healthy, alongside a roster that is considered among the best in the nation, there are going to be plenty of eyes on this squad this season.

With a tilt against the Texas Tech Red Raiders on February 8, there will be even more eyes on the team. It was announced earlier this week that the Huskers are going to be on the MLB Netwwork.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers' matchup with Texas Tech will be the most anticipated weekend contest in the NFCA Leadoff Classic. The matchup should feature two of the nation's best pitchers in Bahl and Texas Tech's NiJaree Canady.

Canady spent the last two seasons of her collegiate career at Stanford leading the Cardinal back to the Women's College World Series in back-to-back seasons before transferring to Lubbock with a massive NIL deal.

The deal she signed is reportedly the largest softball has ever seen. The Athletic reported the one-year, totals around $1,050,024.

MLB Network will broadcast three games from the NFCA Leadoff Classic on Saturday. The action kicks off with Missouri taking on Duke at 12 p.m. CST, followed by the Nebraska Cornhuskers softball team facing Texas Tech at 3 p.m. and wrapping up with Tennessee vs. Northwestern at 6 p.m. The NFCA Leadoff Classic will open the season for the Huskers and will allow them to have a jumping-off point for what they hope will be a very successful season.
