Versatility is a defining trend of the Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team’s frontcourt since Fred Hoiberg came to town and NU hopes to continue that trend with their 2025 recruiting class. In particular, Hoiberg is hoping to add the top JUCO prospect in the 2025 class in order to keep that versatility going.

Xavier Edmonds is regarded as that top junior college prospect. And he’s at least giving the Huskers a shot at selling him. He has locked in an official visit to NU for later this month.

The 6-foot-9, 245-pound sophomore from Salt Lake City (Utah) C.C. will be in town to see what the Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team has to offer from Oct. 25-27. And Hoiberg is certainly hoping Edmonds likes what he sees.

The forward showed off his skills at several different parts of his game. He averaged 14.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.1 steals last season as a freshman for the Bruins. He also shot 55.2 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from 3-point range

Edmonds has gotten a ton  of high-major offers this summer, including the Huskers on July 13. He’s also heard from Oregon, USC, Washington, Oklahoma, Georgia, LSU, Missouri, Xavier, Cincinnati, Cal, Texas A&M, TCU, and Arizona State.

Out of high school he He had a final three of Washington State, New Mexico, and San Jose State, but took the JUCO route instead. After going that direction, he’s shown off the kind of skills that make him one of the best in his class.

The forward has officially visited TCU, Oregon, and USC and is considering trips to Oklahoma and Georgia. It’s possible he’ll get those visits squeezed in but one thing is sure, the Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team is getting a visit before he pulls the trigger on a commitment next month.
