The Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team didn't always look perfect over the weekend, but it is both 13-0 and 2-0 in the Big Ten thanks to a couple of sweeps over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
- Rutgers gave the Huskers one of the toughest matches of the season but NU was able to win 25-21, 25-22, 25-15. Against the Buckeyes, things went quite a bit easier, as Dani Busboom Kelly and his crew won 25-19, 25-10, 25-12.
- In addition to the victories, the Nebraska Cornhuskers got good news when sophomore Teraya Sigler returned to the lineup — in the same defensive specialist role she filled as a freshman last year. The Arizona native missed Friday’s win over Rutgers with what her coach described as a foot injury but returned to the court in the back row on Saturday, recording four digs.

- Not only did Andrew Marshall play a great game on Saturday night against Michigan State, but his performance earned him a PFN Impact Grade of over 96. That has him as the best defensive back in the entire country following Week 4's games. He started the weekend as the No. 7 cornerback, so he had quite the jump.
- One week after Dylan Raiola saw action in garbage time for Oregon, the former Nebraska Cornhuskers star saw a ton of action in the Ducks' 41-27 victory over USC. Dante Moore was knocked out of the game in the first quarter by a dirty hit from a Trojans linebacker, and Raiola finished the game by completing 19 of 25 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns. The big question is whether Moore will be back for the next game.
- Speaking of injuries, Nebraska Cornhuskers running back Jamal Rule was hurt in the first half of the Huskers' game against Michigan State. So far, the team hasn't provided any update on what was wrong or how long he might be out. The true freshman star's status could be updated later on Monday.
- After four mediocre performances, Illinois fired defensive coordinator Bobby Hauck on Sunday. Now the big question is how that move will affect the Nebraska Cornhuskers when they face the Illini in November. Hauck was in his first year after getting hired this offseason.
