The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team suffered a heartbreaking loss on Saturday, but the volleyball team made sure there was something to celebrate by Sunday. The Huskers took out Big Ten rival and No. 7-ranked Wisconsin in straight sets, continuing an undefeated season that's setting up Dani Busboom Kelly's squad to once again be the undisputed favorite to win the national title.
- The Huskers (17-0, 6-0 Big Ten) capped a 2-0 week against top-15 opponents with a 25-23, 25-14, 25-20 sweep over the Badgers (11-5, 5-1) during the annual blackout inside Bob Devaney Sports Center.
- “It feels great,” Busboom Kelly said after the win. “It was an awesome atmosphere tonight, and I thought Indiana was a great atmosphere too. So just to sweep two ranked teams, one on the road, one at home, I think it makes a statement that we’re playing great, but we all know there’s another level there and some fun things we can sprinkle in as this season continues to go on.”
- Nebraska will look to keep its momentum rolling during another split-location week as the Huskers will visit Northwestern on Thursday before returning home to host No. 16 Purdue.

- John Cook was an easy choice for the Aksarben Foundation’s 2026 Most Honored Citizen. The group announced his selection Saturday night at its annual ball at the CHI Health Center. The event honors and celebrates families in the Midlands who have achieved excellence and give back to the community.
- The Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team played its first exhibition of the season and, while it led for much of the game against Saint Louis, it eventually lost. Head coach Fred Hoiberg saw some things that the Billikens did that he was glad to see, because he believes his squad needs to find a way to overcome them when the games matter.
- “This was the perfect game for us because we’re gonna see a lot of that,” Hoiberg said after the 79-74 loss. “And we’ll see it from pretty much the first game of the season, and it’s gonna go all the way through.”
- While the Huskers lost to the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday, next week's game against Oregon just got more intriguing after Dylan Raiola was benched in the Ducks' loss to UCLA. Oregon turned the ball over six times on Saturday, and Raiola accounted for three of those turnovers. He completed just 6 of 19 passes for 43 yards and two interceptions.
- Will Raiola start when the Nebraska Cornhuskers visit Eugene? It seems unlikely. The real question now is whether Dante Moore will be back, or whether third stringer Brock Thomas will get the start.
