While the Nebraska basketball team is in the middle of a historic run to the Sweet 16, recruiting never stops. Especially when guys like Treyson Anderson make it known that they'll be entering the Transfer Portal when it opens next month.Â
Anderson just helped his North Dakota State team get to the NCAA Tournament. However, the Bison's stay was a short one as they were blown out in the first round by Michigan State. Now he's one of three members of the school's record-setting team that is looking for new homes.
Anderson is the youngest of the trio, a sophomore joined by fourth-year players Noah Feddersen and Damari Wheeler-Thomas. Anderson happens to be the one who could be zeroed in on by Nebraska, not just because he had a very nice season with North Dakota State, but also because he's a Lincoln native.
North Dakota State transfer Treyson Anderson, former Lincoln Pius X forward, will hit the portal.

He should have suiters from all over the country. Development & playing time will be top of the list. I’ve already heard some big names starting to reach out. Nebraska will most…
Nebraska basketball has strong reason to pursue Treyson Anderson in the portal
The 6-foot-9 Anderson averaged 10.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game for the Summit League champions, starting the final 20 games of the season. The forward shot 50% from the field and nearly 36% from beyond the arc. Those numbers will be attractive to all sorts of Major conference programs, but especially to the Huskers, who could be losing Pryce Sandfort to the NBA this offseason.
Just because Anderson is from Lincoln, it doesn't guarantee he'll head to Nebraska if Fred Hoiberg comes calling. According to Mike Sautter, several big programs have already reached out to the forward, despite announcing his portal intentions on Monday afternoon.
Nebraska will almost certainly at least test the waters. Their run to the Sweet 16 (and possibly the Elite Eight by Friday morning), along with an offense that fits Treyson Anderson well, should give them a foot in the door. Coming back to his hometown would have to be a draw as well.
