While the Nebraska basketball team continues to wait and see where it might be playing postseason ball, it’s officially time to start building towards next season. And as it comes to building towards the next season, there is a very talented power forward who is keeping a cose eye on the Huskers.
As the available talent pool in the 2025 class is depleted nationally, college basketball teams are exploring international waters. Italian forward Maikcol Perez is one of the guys that schools like Nebraska are quite interested in.
The Nebraska basketball team is in fact, so interested in him that according to Joe Tipton he’s taken a visit to Lincoln. That’s more than he did with some other schools that are trying to lure him to the states to play college ball.
Italian prospect Maikcol Perez is considering the college route, per source.

Nebraska basketball sets aim at Italian forward
Tipton reported that he has also had Zoom calls with the Cincinnati Bearcats and the Miami Hurricanes. Perez is six feet eight inches tall and, according to On3 rankings, the 34th overall player in the 2025 class.
Playing with the Italy U17 National Team in the World Cup last summer, Perez averaged 14.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists a game while emerging as a high-major recruit and potential NBA prospect.
However, it looks like he’s going to forego the NBA for now and instead continue to hone his game. He would certainly be a massive addition for a Nebraska basketball team that is going to have to replace some big pieces when the 2025-26 season rolls around.
