A top Nebraska basketball target is pulling the trigger on his commitment next week. Unfortunately, it looks like the Huskers will lose out to Iowa State.
On Friday morning, 4-star small forward Donovan Davis announced the final five schools he's considering. He also let everyone known when he'll pick the final one. Davis is committing on May 6.
Donovan Davis has Nebraska basketball in the final five, but Iowa State leads late
The 6-foot-7 junior out of Freedom High School (Wisconsin) told Rivals he will decide between Nebraska, Iowa, Iowa State, Marquette, and Wisconsin next Wednesday. While the Huskers were considered to be a possible frontrunner as recently as last week, recent predictions seem to indicate he's leaning toward the Cyclones.

Davis is certainly doing his due diligence. The native of Kaukauna, Wisconsin, took official visits to each of his finalists in April.
As far what he's looking for in a school, he laid that out in a previous interview earlier this spring.
“I think my main factor in a school will be a coaching staff that has trust in me and allows me to be able to do what I can do. But I’m also looking for a team that’s, like, family where they’re always together, always helping other people, and just playing as a team.”
Nebraska basketball could see its recruiting heater cool with the May 6 decision
Davis, who averaged 21.7 points per game this past season, could help any one of the teams he decides on as a self-proclaimed inside-out scorer. Scouts believe he can make an impact at every level of the court offensively. He has been working tirelessly to improve his shooting and wants to become a better all-around player.
Nebraska and Fred Hoiberg have been on quite a run as far as recruiting, both from the high school ranks and the Transfer Portal. Still, it looks like that heater might end on May 6. Ironically, it appears Donovan Davis is headed to Hoiberg's alma mater instead of his current program.
