Nebraska basketbal star on the verge of NCAA, familial history vs Wisconsin

When the Nebraska basketball team plays Wisconsin on Sunday, Brice Williams can enter a special kind of record book, win or lose.

When the Nebraska basketball team takes on the Wisconsin Badgers on Sunday, there is quite a bit on the line. First and foremost the Huskers are trying to save their season.

After losing their last five games, The Nebraska Cornhuskers very badly need to get off the snide. Of course, there are better teams to try and do that against than a ranked Badgers squad that is on a bit of a roll.

Win or lose, Nebraska basketball star Brice Williams can see a little bit of history and can do it even if he doesn’t have the best game of his season. Should he score 9 points on Sunday, he would enter rarified air alongside his father where he and Henry Williams would be one of seven father-son duos who have combined to core 4,000 career points in college basketball.

Nebraska basketball star could make history

When Brice does eventually score those 9 points - against Wisconsin or the next game - he and his father, William (who passed away in 2018) they’ll join quite the list.

Dell Curry and his son Stephen are number one on the list with 2,389 and 2,635 points. Mike Davis and Antoine Davis had 1,211 and 3,664 points. Steve Burtt Sr. and Steve Burtt Jr. had 2,534 and 2,034 points. Dell Curry (again) and Seth Curry had 2,389 and 2,101 points. Steve Alford had 2,438 and Bryce Alford had 1,922 points. Greg McDermott had 1,033 and Doug McDermott had 3,150 points.

It seems likely that Brice will have the chance to move he and his father up the list past the McDermotts. It’s certainly interesting that when the Nebraska basketball star does push he and his father over 4,000 it will be the second time part of these duos has come from a Nebraska-based school, with Doug McDermott playing at Creighton.
