After a thrilling win in Arrowhead Stadium in Week 1, the Nebraska Cornhuskers are excited to bring that same energy back to Memorial Stadium this week. Even though the game was played at a neutral site, Nebraska football fans easily outnumbered Cincinnati fans, giving the edge to the Cornhuskers when it came to crowd noise.
While the game in Kansas City was fun, there is nothing better than playing a game at home, and Matt Rhule agrees. When speaking to the media this week, Rhule talked about what it is like playing a night game in Memorial Stadium and just how hyped the fans get.
Matt Rhule wants people fired up for Nebraska football's home opener
"I don't know if there is anything better that I've been a part of in my life than a night game at Memorial Stadium," Rhule said. "It's unbelievable."
Matt Rhule said Thursday at Arrowhead Stadium was amazing, but there's nothing like coming home to Lincoln.

Rhule can't wait to get back in his home stadium and show the fans what Nebraska football is all about. Even though the Cornhuskers may not be playing the highest level of opponents as they take on Akron in Week 2, there is still something about getting he stadium full for a home opener.
The Cornhuskers will look to put more points on the board than they did in Week 1 as they face Akron at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, September 6. While Nebraska looked good in its season opener, there are definitely some things that can be improved on.
Quarterback Dylan Raiola started the game a little shaky with some of his passes, and the defense struggled with missed tackles. This will be the perfect week to clean up some of those mistakes and work on better timing. The run game was great, but Nebraska will need another solid running back to be able to give Emmett Johnson a break.
Johnson had 25 carries for 108 yards against Cincinnati, while the rest of the rushers from that night had a total of 10 combined. Johnson made up 108 of the 133 rushing yards for Nebraska football that night, so someone is going to have to take some of the load to add dimensions to the run game.
