Matt Rhule is gearing up for what will hopefully be a big offseason of recruiting for Nebraska as the 2027 cycle is about to heat up big time. Rhule better be ready to roll up his sleeve though adn fight for a few recruits, like one that has narrowed his choices down to six with the Huskers as a finalist.
Four-star wide receiver Cade Cooper revealed his final six schools for his commitment, and it seems like Nebraska is going to be battling Notre Dame, Georgia, Illinois, Georgia Tech, and Ole Miss. Cooper has reportedly been leaning toward the Irish, but without a commitment date set, things feel wide open.
Cooper is set to have some official visits throughout late May and June; he has yet to set one with Nebraska.

Cooper is ranked as the No. 77 wide receiver in the Class of 2027 and the No. 18 player in the state of Pennsylvania, according to 247Sports. It seems like Cooper is in favor of Notre Dame, but there is still a lot of time for Rhule to make a move.
The Class of 2027 at Nebraska is getting stronger with each recruit, but ranked No. 21 in the nation, according to 247Sports. There is only one other wide receiver currently committed to the class, with three-star Kaden Howard, but 2027 quarterback Trae Taylor will need more pass catchers.
Taylor has been the longest-standing commit in the Class of 2027, committing back in 2025, and he has time adn time again assured that he is sticking with Nebraska no matter what. However, he does need guys to throw to, and bringing in young talent that can grow with him would be huge for Rhule and the offense.
The first thing Rhule needs to do is get an official visit set up with Cooper, and then work his recruiting magic to get him to choose the Huskers.
