The Nebraska offensive line has had its fair share of struggles this season, and this new bit of news is not what they needed at all. After going down against Northwestern on Saturday, head coach Matt Rhule officially updated the media on the injury that offensive lineman Teddy Prochazka suffered.
Rule announced that Prochazka would miss the rest of the college football season as he tore his ACL against Northwestern. The offensive tackle position is not one the Cornhuskers can afford to lose anyone at, and losing a key starter like Prochazka is certainly a blow to a line that could use all the help they can get right now.
Rhule made the announcement at his weekly press conference on Monday, addressing the media before the Cornhuskers take on No. 23 USC this weekend.
Nebraska will be without Teddy Prochazka for rest of the season
Nebraska OL Teddy Prochazka suffered a torn ACL Saturday against Northwestern, coach Matt Rhule says. Brutal way for the local kid to end his #Huskers career.

This is not the first time that Prochazka has suffered a season-ending injury. This is actually his fourth season-ending injury after suffering one in 2021 after playing in five games, one in 2022 after playing in three games, and then was out all of 2024 after suffering an injury during fall camp.
Unfortunately for Prochazka, injuries are not new to him, but it is sad to see anyone's season end, especially someone with so much injury history. The fifth-year senior appeared in seven games for the Cornhuskers, starting five of them at right tackle.
This means Prochazka's career as a Cornhusker is officially over, with his college eligibility running out. It was clear that Rhule was pretty torn up about the news of Prochazka's injury in his press conference.
"I’ll just say he’s done for the year,” Rhule said. “Hate it for him. I hate it for him."
With Prochazka out now for the season, Nebraska has to have the 'next man up' mentality adn get to work as this offensive line needs it. With fellow right tackle Gunner Gottula still questionable for the game against USC, it looks like Turner Corcoran will most likely get the start on Saturday.
