After yet another loss to a Top 25 team, Nebraska fans are already getting restless just days after Matt Rhule's extension.

Just a few days ago, Nebraska fans could not be happier to not be losing head coach Matt Rhule, who signed a contract extension to stay put in Lincoln. Those feelings lasted all of a whopping two days, and now fans are ready with their pitchforks and torches to storm the gates of the football building, wanting Rhule.

Nebraska has an opportunity to break its losing streak against ranked opponents that dates back to 2016, taking on No. 23 USC, but instead, they just extended it with a 21-17 loss to the Trojans. To add insult to injury, quarterback Dylan Raiola went down with an ankle injury in the third quarter and did not return to the game.

Just days after getting his extension, fans are already questioning it after a loss that could have just as easily been a win for the Cornhuskers.

Nebraska fans are outraged with Matt Rhule's record against ranked opponents

This is pretty bad, and there is no way Nebraska can take any steps towards being Big Ten or even National Champions if they can't find a way to beat ranked opponents.

Only two wins against ranked opponents in his entire coaching career are really bad, but not having beaten a single ranked opponent at Nebraska is even worse. This is probably the most resources Rhule has ever had with a program, and right now he is wasting them.

There is a dispute over the extension. It is really bad timing to have a loss like this when the fans were expecting so much.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that, but a good reminder to always keep receipts when you buy something.

To be fair, this isn't wrong, James franklin couldn't win in the big games either.

Again, not really detecting any lies here, he is 0-8 against Top 25 teams with Nebraska.

A lot of fans are asking the same question right now. At this point, Rhule is still working on the rebuild at Nebraska, and while he has done it in three years in the past, this is a new age of college football. It seems like Rhule needs more time to get this program up to par.
