Huskers revive all black uniforms for first time in years vs. USC

The Cornhuskers will come out in style against the Trojans this season.

Nebraska football is bringing back a look this season that they haven't seen in five years. The Cornhuskers will revive their alternate all black jerseys when they welcome the USC Trojans this season, and might we say that these uniforms look absolutely sick. Nebraska didn't wear any sort of alternative uniform in 2024, so this will also be the revival of alternate uniforms.

The Cornhuskers last wore the black uniforms back in 2019 and 2020, but in 2020, there were no fans in the stands due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so fans didn't get to fully enjoy them. The first time these uniforms debuted was back in 2013 when Nebraska played UCLA. Now, fans will get to be up close and personal with these uniforms, and they are probably going to love them yet again.

Nebraska made the announcement on social media about the return of the uniforms, taking the angle that darkness is coming for everyone who dares go up against the Cornhuskers. Star members of the team, which included star quarterback Dylan Raiola, were seen coming out of a dark cornfield wearing the all black uniforms.

The black uniforms include black jerseys with white numbers and white stripes on the sleeves. They have matching black pants with white stripes down the side and a white helmet with a black stripe. There is no trace of Nebraska's signature red color on these uniforms, making it a true all black uniform.

Not only will the players be wearing all black in this game, but they are asking the fans at the game to all wear black, making this a blackout game against the Trojans. This is a big game for Nebraska, as USC could be on the up this season, and this could be a strong win for Nebraska's College Football Playoff resume.

These uniforms are rooted in tradition, as there is an inscription on the back neck of the uniform that reads "tradition of winning," which every Cornhusker fan knows is the tradition of this program. Fans can purchase these all-black uniforms online through the 'Huskers website.
