After going down 14-1 in the first four minutes of the game, the Nebraska Cornhuskers could have just thrown in the towel against No. 13 Purdue in their home arena. Instead, head coach Fred Hoiberg and his squad fought back tooth and nail to try and make a comeback, and it fell just short.
The Huskers were able to make it a game in the end, even sending it to overtime late, but alas, the Boilermakers made a few more plays, and Jamarques Lawrence had an unfortunate slip on what could have been the game-winning possession for Nebraska. Hoiberg is allowing this game to affect the Huskers, though, as there is still so much ahead.
"It's gonna be a good learning opportunity for our team, get a good film session on Thursday when we get back in the gym," Hoiberg said. "We're going to prepare like we have all year, we're not gonna jump off the map, we're gonna learn from this one."

The biggest problem for Nebraska against Purdue was the slow start. When a team gets in that big of a hole early, for the entire rest of the first half, it is all about catching up, then in the second half, it can be about trying to take a lead. However, for Nebraska, they played a really good half of the game when in the Big Ten, a full 40 minutes is needed to win.
Hoiberg knows his team didn't play well, and they have to get back to what they were doing before these losses started piling up. Nebraska started the season a historic 20-0 before going 1-3 in its next four games.
The Huskers need to get back on track to finish the season, as the Big Ten Tournament will be a big test before the NCAA Tournament, which Nebraska is already a lock for. With no more ranked opponents left on the schedule, the Huskers need to win out to feel good about finishing the regular season.
