Former Nebraska safety Daniel Bullocks was once a very talented safety with the Huskers before being drafted in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. After spending three years in the league, Bullocks decided to hang up his cleats and give coaching a try.

Bullocks started at Northern Iowa as the defensive backs coach, starting in 2012, and was there until 2015, when he made the move to Eastern Michigan. After a few years in the college ranks, Bullocks made the move to the NFL, starting with the Jacksonville Jaguars as the assistant defensive backs coach in 2016.

After just one season with the Jags, Bullocks made the cross-country move to San Fransisco where he joined the 49ers staff in the same position. After two seasons, Bullocks was promoted to the safeties coach for the Niners from 2019 and just finished the 2025 season with the team.

Now, Bullocks is making another career move, this time to a much colder climate. Bullocks is expected to be hired by Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers as their safeties coach.

Bullocks did interview for the Niners defensive coordinator position back in 2024, but former Niners DC Robert Saleh won the job. Even with Saleh heading to the Titans, that position opening again, it seems like Bullocks was ready for a change, and he certainly will get that with the Packers.

At Nebraska, Bullocks started 22 games throughout his four-year career with the Cornhuskers and was even a co-captain during his senior season. Before the Huskers made the move to the Big Ten, Bullocks was with them in the Big 12 and was named Second-Team All-Big 12 for his final two years in college.
