Nebraska quarterback believes the Cornhuskers are back on the map, and no, he didn't mean the Big Ten map commercial that plays before every game. He meant the map of successful college football programs.

As a freshman last season, Raiola led the Huskers to a 7-6 overall record, including a win over the Boston College Eagles in the Pinstripe Bowl. Now, the young QB is ready for more, and he has faith that Nebraska can be even better.

While at the 2025 Big Ten Media Days, Raiola spoke about how much confidence he has in his teammates and the program he is a part of.

Nebraska deserves to be back on the map, and it’s not because of me or something that I did," Raiola said. "It's just the type of program it is, it's a program ready to go win, and it's one of those top programs that's gonna be put back on top."

Raiola and the Cornhuskers stormed into their first season together, demolishing the UTEP Miners and Northern Iowa Panthers, as well as defeating Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, and the Colorado Buffaloes.

Now, expectations are even higher as Raiola looks toward his sophomore season at Nebraska. His statement at Media Days cemented that he has the confidence necessary to make those expectations a reality.

"I know fans will love this, but running," Raiola said about what he has focused on this offseason. "I’m going to be excited to run a lot more this year."

Last year, Raiola threw for 2,819 yards and 13 touchdowns through the air. Yet, fans preferred when the dual-threat quarterback kept the ball in his hands and ran downfield.

He never found the end zone to cap off a rushing attempt, but he did pick up some big yardage when he used his legs, even running for a 38-year-pick up against the eventual National Champions, the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Raiola and the Cornhuskers are set to kick off their 2025 season on Thursday, Aug. 28, with a matchup against the Cincinnati Bearcats. The game is set to begin at 8 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN.
