Nebraska has seen its fair share of streaks throughout program history, but there is one that the Cornhuskers really want to break against No. 23 USC. As of late, Nebraska has struggled against ranked opponents, so much so that they have lost 28 consecutive games against them, the latest coming earlier this season to Michigan.
Now, the Cornhuskers are getting another chance at breaking the streak with a matchup against No. 23 USC. When speaking to the media this week, Huskers quarterback Dylan Raiola spoke on what it means to get a 'do-over' against a ranked opponent this season, and hoping for an outcome different from the Michigan game.
"I believe God is saying 'Here is another opportunity. Let's see what you go do with it.'," Raiola said.

Nebraska also has another streak riding on this game, as the Cornhuskers are winless against the Trojans since playing them the first time back in 1969. In the six meetings between these two teams, USC has won five, and the other game ended in a tie.
This game is also big for head coach Matt Rhule, who is still making headlines as the top candidate for the Penn State head coach vacancy. When the job became open, Rhule was an immediate name thrown out, but then the game against Minnesota, where Nebraska lost 24-6, hurt his chances slightly, but with jobs like Florida and LSU now open as well, Rhule has again become the frontrunner.
This might be one of Nebraska's best chances to end this streak, especially taking on a USC team that is hurting with injuries right now. The offensive game plan has to be led by running back Emmitt Johnson, who has the chance to have a big game with how USC's run defense is looking this season.
This is the do-over Nebraska has been waiting for and with a night game in Lincoln, they have the best opportunity to break a long standing streak.
