Nebraska starting quarterback Dylan Raiola wants doubters to understand that he and his teammates aren't backing down after a disappointing loss on Saturday to Michigan.
Raiola has become an even more vocal leader of the Huskers this summer and has stepped that up even more now that they're in-season. He's led on the field with a genuinely excellent performance so far this year, and he's led when he takes to the podium after games.
Dylan Raiola responds to Nebraska football loss with bold message
On Saturday evening, the Nebraska signal caller spoke about how he believes his teammates will respond to the 30-27 loss to the Wolverines. In short, anyone thinking the Huskers are folding up shop is badly mistaken.
"A lot of people . Just telling you right now, be careful."
If his warning wasn't clear enough, Raiola went on to say that he thinks the defeat only made he and his teammates even more focused. More driven.
"We're going to come back together and do something scary."
Platitudes after a loss like the team suffered on Saturday are nice, and it's good to see that the quarterback shows that kind of fire. Later in the press conference, he made it clear he wasn't happy Nebraska has a bye this week because he wanted to get out there and erase the bad taste of the loss from their collective mouths.
Nebraska's next game could be a real test. Michigan State is 3-1 and has sported an explosive offense that's been quite a bit better than in years past. The Huskers will need to use the bye to make sure they're ready
