While Matt Rhule is still looking for a new defensive coordinator, Nebraska could have its new offensive line coach very, very soon. Rhule announced that Donovan Raiola was relieved of his duties on Saturday afternoon. Almost immediately after the official word came down, rumors that Geep Wade would step into the hole on the Huskers staff started circulating on social media.

Wade is currently the offensive line coach for the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets. However, if FootballScoop's numbers are correct, he could be in line for quite the pay bump should he make the jump to the Huskers.

Wade is reportedly earning a salary of $450,000 for the 2025 season. Raiola was making $200,000 more than that, despite being someone that most Nebraska fans were less than impressed by. Rhule could even split the difference and still give Wade a nice enough pay bump that he could move from the ACC to the Big Ten.

Nebraska reportedly zeroes in on Geep Wade as offensive line coach

Wade helped lead Georgia Tech to the 12th-ranked offense in the country based on average yards per game (466.3 ypg). The Yellowjackets ranked No. 19 nationally in rushing offense (203 ypg) and No. 28 in scoring offense (33.1 ppg).

While quarterback Haynes King was the team's leading rusher (922 yards and 15 TDs), running backs Malachi Hosley and Jamal Haynes were an effective committee as they teamed for over 1,100 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Wade has coached 21 all-conference players, with five of his offensive linemen advancing to the National Football League. While the hiring isn't official yet, the hiring of the Georgia Tech coach would seem to be a massive improvement for Nebraska as it steams towards a "prove it" season for head coach Matt Rhule.

Edit: Not long after reported first surfaced that Geep Wade was the name to watch, Nebraska has reportedly made it official and he will be the new offensive line coach.
