Dana Holgorsen's press conference revealed why he's one of the best play-callers

Nebraska's offense certainly has seen a good change under new offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen.

Nebraska's offense struggled last season, which led to the firing of Marcus Satterfield and brought new offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen into the building. That seemed to be the best hire that head coach Matt Rhule could have made as the Nebraska offense has looked better this season, which has helped lead the Cornhuskers to a 4-1 record so far.

Holgorsen knows the most important thing as an offensive coordinator, and he talked about it in his press conference this week. He also noted that not only does he know it, but he has also talked with quarterback Dylan Raiola about it.

Go with the hot hand.

Holgorsen knows that when a player is hot, the ball needs to go to him as much as possible; he even admitted to forcing play calls to that player, and this past week against Michigan State, it was Nyziah Hunter. Against the Spartans, Hunter had four receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown.

Having an offensive coordinator who is willing to just go with who is playing the best at that moment is more important than some would think. A lot of play-callers would just call a game the way they planned, but being able to change things up when it seems like someone is playing their best game that day is something not every play-caller can do.

Holgorsen is proving that even if he struggled as a head coach at Houston, he is actually a really good play-caller, and being able to call the game the way he does for Raiola as well has proven he is a great offensive coordinator.

The Nebraska offense is looking like a whole new group compared to last season, and a lot of that is thanks to what Holgorsen has done and the way he calls the game.
