Following the Nebraska football team's loss to Penn State, there are all kinds of thoughts and reasons to explain why the Huskers had such a horrible outing on Saturday night. Ceyair Wright had his own opinion

NU head coach Matt Rhule certainly had his takes. They weren't all that dissimilar from other rationales after losses. Wright had another view. He thinks he and his teammates didn't come into the game against the Nittany Lions with the right mindset.

"I think we came in here, we knew what was coming, and we didn't execute," The veteran Nebraska cornerback said. "They executed, they were more physical than us, as simple as that. So I don't know why we didn't come with the right mindset. I thought we were prepared, but when the time came to do it, we didn't execute."

Ceyair Wright says Nebraska's mindset for Penn State was wrong

Wright might get some points for honesty, but the idea that the Huskers came off a bye week with the wrong mindset won't sit well with Nebraska fans.

It certainly won't help that the Huskers were dominated on every side of the ball, even special teams, which has been a strength all year. There's also the issue of several NU players losing their cool while they were losing the game.

Wright and the rest of his Nebraska teammates have one more regular-season game to show the Cornhuskers program is still taking a big step in the right direction in Matt Rhule's third season in Lincoln. For his part, the defensive back feels they will: "We'll be better next week."
