5-star DB drops another hint he could commit to Nebraska sooner rather than later

This would be a huge get for the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

With the summer winding down adn most top-tier recruits in the Class of 2026 already committed, attention is being turned towards the start of the football season, but also on even further in the future. Now is the time to start looking at recruits a little more seriously in the Class of 2027, and Nebraska is doing just that.

Tory Pittman III, a 5-star defensive back, has been in talks with the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and it seems like things are going well, especially with his choice of clothes at practice this week. Pittman shows up to practice wearing a Nebraska jersey, which could mean he is leaning towards the Cornhuskers for his commitment.

Granted, this could also mean that Pittman just grabbed that shirt out of his closet that morning, but it is way more run to read into these types of things. Plus, as a Nebraska native, Pittman seems destined to play for the Cornhuskers, and 4-star quarterback commit Trae Taylor thinks so too, as he is also trying to land the top defensive back's commitment.

Matt Rhule is putting in the time on the Class of 2027

Even though most of his focus has been on building the Class of 2026 recruits, Rhule knows the importance of starting recruiting early and has already landed a commitment from Taylor for the Class of 2027. He is also hot on he trail of a few other 2027 recruits like Pittman.

Pittman is coming in as a 5-star recruit already and ranking as the No. 16 player in the Class of 2027, the No. 1 defensive back in the country, and the No. 1 player in the state of Nebraska. The homegrown kid from Nebraska should absolutely be wearing Cornhusker red in college when he starts playing college ball, and Rhule is trying to make sure that happens.
