Nebraska is deep in the mix for four-star running back Isaiah Rogers, a Massachusetts native who has received offers from across this country, and now, the Cornhuskers are hosting him over a weekend that could make or break their recruitment of the young prospect.
This weekend, as the Cornhuskers host the No. 21 Michigan Wolverines, Rogers will be on the sideline, seeing exactly what Nebraska and head coach Matt Rhule can offer.
Rogers, who is the No. 12 running back in the class of 2027, is reportedly leaning toward the Cornhuskers alongside two other programs: the Syracuse Orange and the Penn State Nittany Lions.
So far, the young running back has taken two visits to the other frontrunners in his recruitment process, this visit to Lincoln rounding out his second trip to see the Huskers.
In total, Rogers has received 14 offers from Division I programs, including the three teams leading the charge, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Wisconsin Badgers, and more.

When Nebraska first extended Rogers an offer, he took to social media to make the announcement, saying, “After a great conversation with [EJ Barthel], I’m grateful to receive an Offer from The University of Nebraska.”
Barthel, the running backs coach for the Cornhuskers, joined Rhule’s staff in 2023 and has played a big role in recruiting Nebraska’s most recent running backs, including Emmett Johnson and Mekhi Nelson.
Rogers has yet to set a decision date with more than one and a half seasons remaining in his high school career. However, as he continues to ramp up his visitation schedule, the Cornhuskers will have to continue to push to earn his attention.
According to On3 and Rivals, Rogers is currently leaning toward Syracuse for his future program, but by a very slim margin. The recruiting site gives the Orange a 26 percent chance to land the running back’s commitment, with 22.8 percent to Penn State and 19.5 percent to Nebraska.
With Rogers on the sidelines, Nebraska and Michigan are scheduled to kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT, on Saturday, Sept. 20, and the game will be aired on CBS and Paramount+.
