The Nebraska Cornhuskers Women’s Basketball team got one heck of a massive commitment in Britt Prince, which is described as program-changing.
There’s even been some talk that Prince could be the kind of addition to the Nebraska Women’s Basketball program that Caitlin Clark has been to the Iowa Hawkeyes. At the very least, even if she’s not able to lead that kind of turnaround, Prince has been compared to the Nebraska Softball team landing Jordy Bahl.
The 5-foot-11 senior guard from Elkhorn North had received 35 Division I scholarship offers. She cut that that list to 11 in in late September and then chose the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Sunday afternoon. The Huskers beat out Creighton, Iowa, Iowa State, Indiana, Oklahoma, Oregon, North Carolina, Baylor, USC and Louisville.
Prince is a heck of a scorer, but she’s also someone who dishes out the ball well and hits the boards hard. She
averaged 23.4 points as a freshman and 24.1 points as a sophomore. She led the state last season with a 24.2-point scoring average, shot .590 from the field and posted a .467 3-point percentage
Prince also averaged 6.2 assists and 8.6 rebounds per game.
Nebraska Cornhuskers Volleyball sweeps the weekend
The Nebraska Volleyball team is still undefeated, which is quite an accomplishment considering that they were down two sets to none on Friday against the Penn State Nittany Lions. They had easier work against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Sunday.
Nebraska won 25-15, 25-20, 25-18, improving to 23-0 on the season and 14-0 in the Big Ten. It marks the third-best start to a season ever for John Cook’s most recent squad.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers will next take on Northwestern on Wednesday night and then get a few days off before going up against Illinois next Sunday afternoon.
There are just six matches left in the Nebraska Cornhuskers Volleyball regular season with a rematch against Wisconsin headlining as the penultimate match of the year.
